Montessori makes learning joyful…

…by encouraging children’s independence and confidence in abilities

…by supporting children’s interests in a close-knit setting

…by offering children the freedom to explore, question, and discover

Montessori is an education preparing not just for school, but for life.

Montessori education fosters the child's intrinsic desire to learn. The Montessori method encourages empathy and instills in children the joy of learning.

In our classrooms, children are given the freedom to explore, question, and make discoveries. They become enthusiastic, intrinsically motivated learners who are able to think critically, work collaboratively, and act boldly.

Our Programs

Young Children’s Community
(Toddler 15 months-3 years)

It is at this young age that children develop the core of their personalities, as well as language, motor skills, social skills and values. Our Young Children’s Community (YCC) program is designed to support and encourage their curiosity and sense of independence in this stage.

Children’s House
(Primary 2.5/3-6 years)

The Children’s House program is a place for children to develop and grow during a period of insatiable curiosity, innate independence, and nearly limitless learning potential. Each guide on staff and each classroom environment is beautifully prepared to engage and challenge young minds while facilitating self-direction, confidence, competence, and a sense of belonging.

New to Montessori?

As Montessori educators, we believe that each child is born to be a learner, and that the full potential of each person is realized only through work in an ordered, challenging, nurturing environment that contributes to the child's physical, intellectual, social and spiritual development.

Montessori Encourages a Child’s Absorbent Mind

At Woodland we do not limit young children with low expectations.

We meet and challenge their abilities.

During the primary years, children have a special power—the power of the absorbent mind. The primary child cannot help but learn. While working, playing, or socializing the primary child’s mind is taking in every detail in their surroundings—every last detail is absorbed unconsciously, simultaneously, and effortlessly, all to be pieced together as the child begins to construct a sense of self.
